From Profile Cutting to Final Inspection: Inside Our 9-Step Manufacturing Line

Ask any window engineer where quality is made and the answer is the same: not in the drawing office, not in final inspection — it is made on the line, step by step, where no defect is passed downstream. Huacai has run its own manufacturing for 27 years inside a 36,000 m² production base in Yantai, China, holding 259 patents (13 of them invention patents). This is how a window actually moves through our factory, in nine controlled steps, before it is allowed to leave.
Step 01–03: From raw profile to a stable frame
01 — Profile cutting. Every window starts as extruded aluminum alloy (6063-T5) supplied in multi-chamber thermal-break geometries — the same profile families used across our SERIES 70 to 120 system windows, in 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm wall thicknesses. Profiles are cut to programed lengths on precision sawing centres. A millimetre of error here becomes a visible gap at the corner of a finished sash, so this step runs on machine tolerances, not on the operator's eye.
02 — Thermal break. The cut profiles move to the thermal-break station, where polyamide strips (PA66-GF25) are inserted into the profile's insulating chamber. This is the physical heart of a "thermal break" window: the interior and exterior aluminum shells are separated by the low-conductivity polyamide barrier, so heat travels through the frame far less easily than through solid metal. Windows that carry our double-thermal-break construction — like SERIES 100 — pass this station with two independent barriers.
03 — Corner assembly. Frame members are joined into complete frames and sashes at the corner-assembly station, where operators align the mitres and press the corners under controlled force. Corner accuracy decides everything downstream: whether the sash sits flush in the frame, whether the gaskets compress evenly, and whether the multi-point hardware engages without binding.
Step 04–06: Sealing, glazing and assembly
04 — Gluing and sealant application. Glazing sealant is applied to the glass rebate on both faces of the profile — inside and out — before the glass unit is seated. Because the sealant does the weatherproofing work, our system-window construction shows no exposed screws on the glazing beads: a clean visual finish that is also a better seal. Different series use different sealant grades to match their duty — from Zhijiang sealant in the standard kit of the SERIES 70 to Baiyun structural-grade sealant on SERIES 88.
05 — Rubber sealing. EPDM weather seals are fitted around frame and sash to complete the compression seal. The profile, its corner joints and the evenness of compression are checked at this station — an airtight window is assembled here or not at all.
06 — Frame assembly. Sashes and frames come together: insulated glass units are built with the specified spacer system (silver aluminum bars in the standard kits, black carbon-steel warm-edge spacers on the higher series), argon fill where specified, and protective film left on until shipping. Cold-climate triple glazing is built as 5+12A+5+12A+5 — two gas-filled cavities.
Step 07–09: Hardware, inspection and packaging
07 — Hardware fitting. The sash is fitted with its espagnolette multi-point locking system and handle — concealed Roto or CMECH systems with Hoppe handles across most of the range. This is the most adjustment-sensitive step: tilt & turn's dual opening modes only feel smooth and lock positively when the strike plates are set up precisely against the closed sash.
08 — Final inspection. Every window passes a documented final inspection before it is cleared — glass condition, seal continuity, hardware function in every opening mode, and cosmetic finish against the approved sample. Our QC+ commitment is deliberately simple: 100% final inspection — every window tested before shipping. Not a batch sample, not a spot check: every single unit.
09 — Packaging. Approved windows move to packaging, where protective film already on the glass and profiles is supplemented with corner protectors and secure packing for the export journey. Damage on the way to site is a quality failure like any other, so packaging is treated as a manufacturing step — not an afterthought.
